Anders Fridén and Niclas Engelin are both veterans of the metal scene and can both look back on an always successful musical past. Their bands In Flames and Gardenian are highly respected among both fans and press and the continuing success of both bands speaks for itself. Nevertheless the two musicians felt that it was time to expand their musical horizons and show that more potential is lying in them. And this is probably the main reason why their self-titled debut album is such an homogenous piece of work which impressivly clarifies, why the two musicians don’t wan to focus just on one style of Metal music: Besides the approved ingredients of which the other bands of the Passenger musicians are famous for, the listener will notice loads of new formidable influences that embody all eleven tracks with new impulses and lift them high above the mean of the currently stagnating music scene. With Passenger Anders Fridén, Niclas Engelin and their fellow mates set of for new shores of a vast musical ocean.
