“Dark Adrenaline” once again sees the band teamed up with acclaimed producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Bullet For My Valentine), however this time LACUNA COIL partly chose their native Italy for the recording to help focus on the more personal nature of the new material. After recording some additional layers such as the vocals at Can-Am Studios in LA the band went back to their home base Milan in order to mix the album with Marco Barusso at Aisha Studio and master it with Marco D’Agostino at 96kHz.it Mastering. “Dark Adrenaline” promises to deliver the melodic, sensual, metallic rush for which the band has come to be known.

This time around music has been our refuge from some of the darkest days of our life and that's why the new songs have such a variety of feelings... some stuff is pretty angry, probably the heaviest we've ever written, some other songs are intense, loaded with velvet dark emotions and there's even a little space for some light at the end of the tunnel”, says Lacuna Coil co-vocalist Andrea Ferro. “People are asking me if we're going back to our roots or if we're taking another step forward in a new direction... well to be honest I just feel that this is 100% a LACUNA COIL record and that is what really matters to me. I just love the songs and we felt a big wave of inspiration. The energy with Don in the studio was sky-high.”

“Collectively, we did so much in between ‘Shallow Life’ and this one. We have lots of different experiences between us,” continues co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia. “We've been loved and hurt, we grew up, we shrunk inside a little keeping ourselves together and our roots watered and are alive. I still can't believe that the energy in between us is getting better and better, but I guess that's what being a real family means.”

Also available will be a Special Edition Digipak that offers a bonus-DVD incl. 6 mini movies that show different episodes telling the story of “Dark Adrenaline” with one episode dedicated to each band member.

The strictly limited Deluxe Edition will contain the above mentioned Digipak as well as a calendar for the years of 2012 and 2013 and a set of 3 buttons, all coming in a box that will offer every fan of LACUNA COIL a special gem for his and her collection.

LACUNA COIL have kicked off their touring cycle with extensive tours throughout their native Italy, UK and some Benelux shows after the release of ”Trip The Darkness“ and even before “Dark Adrenaline”. Not only were and will their European fans be able to enjoy some of the very first dates of their “Darkness Rising” tour, but also witness the very first live performances of brand new songs.

Upon the release of “Dark Adrenaline” LACUNA COIL will join the highly successful and critically acclaimed Gigantour that is headlined by metal titans Megadeth from January to March 2012. Together with Motörhead and Volbeat the Italian six piece LACUNA COIL will complete the package that was personally picked by Dave Mustaine. Gigantour was founded by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine in 2005 and was last in the U.S. in May 2008.

After playing just a selected number of festivals in 2011 such as Greenfield (CH), Graspop Metal Meeting (B) or Sonisphere Spain you can look forward to seeing LACUNA COIL on every renowned European festival in 2012. A full European tour in support of “Dark Adrenaline” is currently being worked on as well.
